Guppies
Our Guppies are our youngest swimmers and the stars of the future! For 2024, Guppies must be at least 4 years old as of January 1, 2024 to participate in our program.
2024 Guppy assessments will take place at 10:30 am on Thursday and Friday, June 13 and 14 (guppies only need to attend one of the two mornings). Guppies should come prepared in swimsuits and goggles and be ready to splash in the water with our coaches as they are assessed for basic skill level.
Guppies are placed in two groups: Blue for our newest swimmers and Gold for our more experienced swimmers (some may advance or join the 8U practice group over the course of the season). The team rep will let you know which group your Guppy will practice with. Please see our equipment page for suggestions regarding suits, goggles, caps and other equipment.
Blue Guppies will practice Tuesdays and Thursdays and Gold Guppies will practice Monday, Wednesday and Friday (per afternoon and morning practice schedules).
Guppies have the opportunity to participate in Lollipop Swims every week. Guppies get the chance to start on the side (typically in the dive well), dive or jump in, and swim to the other side. Coaching interns are in the water to encourage and assist as needed. Some Gold Guppies will also have the chance to participate in B Meets by swimming the 25 Meter Freestyle or 25 Meter Backstroke events (at the Head Coach's discretion). GUPPIES ARE A PART OF THE TEAM
Guppies are considered part of the Swim and Dive Team! Guppies will receive a team t-shirt, take part in Team Picture Day and will be celebrated at our season-end banquet. Guppy families are encouraged to participate in team activities like the Friday night Pep Rallies. Our intern coaches will be on hand to help them join in the fun!

Guppy families will be expected to volunteer along with other team families. Volunteering is a great way to learn the sport and meet other Springboard families. Learn more here.
