Summer 2021 Update
We are hopeful that this summer may bring us a step or two closer to "normal" but we will have to abide by Covid health and safety protocols to make this summer a success. We will be providing updates and team policy requirements later in the spring.
Summer Season 101
Whether your child is 4 or 18, whether this is your first season or your tenth, whether you are a swimmer, diver, or a parent, here is an overview of what you can expect from a (fantastic!) summer as a Barracuda….
Swimmers and divers will work with our coaches and interns to acquire new skills and polish existing ones through a variety of drills, laps, dives and simulations. Daily practices kick off on June 1 and conclude at the end of July. The swim team will switch to morning practice when school gets out in June and the dive team will keep it sizzling with evening practices throughout the season.

The Swim and Dive season offers opportunities to compete at all levels. The competitive season begins with Time Trials for swim team on Saturday and Sunday June 12 and 13. The first swim meet for points (“A” Meet) will be held the following week, Saturday June 19. Monday June 21 will be the first developmental “B” Meet. The competitive dive season gets underway on Tuesday June 22.
Our swimmers and divers will work hard with their teammates and coaches but they’ll have some fun too! Swimmers and divers will take a break from practices with classic pool games, water polo and cannon ball contests. “Fun Tuesday” is a swim team tradition, complete with pancakes. We’ll also have a couple of activities for the team outside of the pool; past activities have included bowling and an afternoon movie outing.
The whole family can get in on the fun at our Friday night Pasta Pep Rally Dinners. It’s pot luck style so bring a dish to share. The team reps will have news and announcements and the coaches will celebrate the Swim and Dive “Cudas of the Week.” The parents can relax while our interns lead a program for the team.

And a note for parents…
Swim and Dive are sports that require a lot of parent involvement to make our season a success. It takes over 40 volunteers to operate a home swim meet! Most volunteer positions can be learned quickly and easily on the job. Each Swim and Dive family will have a volunteer requirement to meet, with plenty of opportunities to get credits at meets and other team events. Volunteers will sign up here on our SwimTopia site on the calendar page. We’ll keep you updated on your progress towards meeting your requirement.
